General geological structure of near-surface sediments of the southern North Sea.

General geological struture of near-surface sediments of the southern North Sea. The Middle-Miocene Unconformity is followed by inclined foresets of the former Eridanos delta (Miocene/Pliocene). Glacial sediments and structures (e.g. subglacial valleys) lie above the base of the Quaternary (exact position uncertain). BGR multi-channel seismic profile HE242-18, vertical axis = 1 second two-way-traveltime (TWT), representing approximately 1 kilometre.
