The project ENVASSO (Environmental Assessment of Soil for Monitoring) aims to design and test a single, integrated, operational and EU-wide set of measurable criteria and indicators as a basis for a harmonised comprehensive European soil and land information system. On completion, the project will provide formal protocols, procedures, tools and recommendations for collecting, organising, interpreting and reporting harmonised European-wide soil information. The research is structured into 5 work packages.
The contribution of BGR has two focal areas:
(1) in WP 1 – "Criteria and Indicators" to analyse and to provide in-depth knowledge about indicators in the area of diffuse contamination.
(2) coordination and work lead in WP 3 – "Database Design and Selection". The main product in this work package is the development of a database for soil monitoring data (soil profile and analytical data).
Project contributions:
- ENVASSO Soil Database (SoDa)
- ENVASSO work packages
- Products of work package 3 "Database Design and Selection"
